MDM Server Name

Section:

Mobile Device Management (MDM)

Description:

Name of the MDM server.

Depending on the solution you are using, the server name is used differently:

  • Ivanti HEAT MDM:
The specified server is used to transfer the data of the mobile devices via Web Service from HEAT MDM to the DSM Console over a secure connection. The 'Server Name' is either the web address or the name of the server / certificate.
  • Third-party MDM Solution:
If required, the server name can be used as variable in other settings, for example in URL for Start Page.

Data transfer will only be successful if the Ivanti HEAT MDM server uses a certificate which is known to the relevant Management Point.
The relevant Management Point will be the one where the Ivanti HEAT MDM Service is installed.

The certificate must be located on the respective Management Point server in the computer-related certificates in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities group. Depending on the MDM solution you are using, the following applies:

  • Ivanti HEAT MDM as a Cloud solution:
    The certificate is available automatically.
  • Ivanti HEAT MDM as a On-Premise solution:
The certificate must be added manually. Please also note that the name of the server must match the name of the certificate! Therefore, a name resolution must be set up via DNS or hosts file.

Possible values:

Cloud solution: Web address (without https://)

On-Premise solution: Server / certificate name (without https://)

Third-party providers: If required, to be used as variable
