Description:

Use this value to specify the settings the DSMC will use for the HTTP communication with the Management Point.

Use Internet Explorer proxy settings
In this case, the DSMC automatically uses the settings of the workstation's Internet Explorer.

Use DSMC proxy settings
In this case, the settings are used that have been specified in Proxy Server, Proxy Port, Proxy User and Proxy Password.

Do not use proxy settings
In this case, no proxy server is used and the DSMC connects directly to the Management Point.

Reasons for change:

Using the "wrong" proxy settings for the communication between the DSMC and the Management Point may lead to considerable performance losses.

Normally it is not even necessary to use a proxy server because communication takes place within an Intranet. On the contrary, using a proxy server may even prevent a connection if the NTLM authentication is not forwarded!
