Usage of Maintenance Plans (WTS)
You can use maintenance
plans to specify when software will be installed on all types of
computers. However, this setting is especially important for Terminal
Servers:
The installation of the computer portion
may require a reboot of the Terminal Server. In this case, the installation
must only occur on the Terminal Server when no users are logged in. That
is why by default the installation of the computer portion only occurs
within the maintenance timeframe on Terminal Servers when no users are
logged in.
You can make the following settings when defining a maintenance plan:
- At the beginning of a maintenance timeframe, a Logoff grace period can be set to determine the period of time before opening the maintenance timeframe during which all users must log off.
- At the beginning of the log off process, a logoff message can be displayed to logged on users and a special logoff script run.
- You can select to automatically log off all users still registered at the beginning of the maintenance timeframe.
