Tips on Administration Rights
Protect the DSMC against Unauthorized Access
Create at least one administrative user – even when there is only oneDSM administrator in your company. This protects the DSMC against unauthorized access.
Create the first Administrative User as a Proprietary DSM Account
Special instructions for the first administrative account:
- Create the first administrative user as a proprietary DSM account. Advantage: you can always open the DSMC with this account - independent of your current OS authorization.
- Provide this user full access to all objects of the site structure: Create the user on the ORG level and select "All Other Objects" in the inheritance dialog.
Do not use this user for your daily work but rather only to create or change administrative users.
Use NT or AD accounts for Daily Work
- Use user accounts for daily work that are defined as NT or AD accounts. Advantage: You are automatically logged in to the DSMC.
- Limit the permissions to this account as much as possible.
