DMZ Scenario 1: Manage External Workstations with DSM

This scenario requires one Management Point in the DMZ; it must have the Relay Proxy and the Distribution Service installed on it. The Event Dispatcher and the Transport Layer are automatically installed with the Relay Proxy. This is the minimum requirement for a Management Point in the DMZ so that software can be distributed to the managed computers via the internet.

The Relay Proxy is the proxy of the BLS; it receives the queries from the DSM clients and the DSM Console and transfers these queries to the BLS via the Transport Layer, even across firewalls. The BLS processes the queries and responds back to the DSM Client or DSM Console by the same way.
With the Relay Proxy you can also call the DSM Web.
