Export of the Infrastructure Configuration

Scope of the Export

All objects of the site structure and values in the DSMC are exported, with the exception of:

• ORG properties: Definition of laptops
• Binary values that do not encode a timeframe
• Neighboring sites for failure safety
• Passwords

(New) passwords can be specified in the XML file. When the XML file is imported, they replace existing passwords in the ICDB.

Export Context

You can either export the entire site structure or just a part (branch) of it.

When a part of the site structure is exported, data (values) is inserted into the XML file only for the selected objects. The objects themselves are always exported in their entirety.

Logging the Export

The export is logged in the DSMC log file.

Administration Permissions Required

In order to export the properties (variables and values) of an object, you need the administration permission Read for the resource in question – site configuration or administration permissions.

The menu item Export configuration is only active if you have the administration permission Read for the site configuration in the context of the object.

When exporting the XML file, the administration permissions required for each object are checked. If you do not have the required read access, the properties for the object in question are not written into the XML file.
