DSM Agent

The DSM Agent is an active component of the DSM Client which is started at runtime with a login script. The DSM Agent executes the initial installation of the DSM Clients and starts the AutoInstaller. Using a polling interval, the DSM Agent can be activated in regular intervals. Also, it can be used to start DSM applications or to install or uninstall DSM services.

In detail, the DSM Agent performs the following tasks:

• Installing and updating the client component
• Starting the Installer as an automatic Installer (AutoInstaller)
  In order to start the AutoInstaller, the DSM Agent has to be started in the login script.
  Depending on the setting in the configuration table (resident Agent; polling interval), the DSM Agent may also start the AutoInstaller in the background, if required.
• Starting DSM modules
• Installation and uninstallation of DSM services
