Offline Client Support with Software Installations from a Storage Medium

Use offline client support to install software on computers that have been disconnected completely from a network.The offline computers must be integrated in the DSM environment as computer objects and must have several software packages assigned to them.There are several installation steps.First, the offline client must be managed.After that, all of the assigned software packages can be installed, repaired or uninstalled.The DSM Client (i.e. the MSI DSM client), the current ICDB, all control data for the software installation and the software mass data are provided on the storage medium.Before and after the software installation, the system runs a basic inventory and stores the data on the storage medium for re-import to the DSM database (DSMDB).

The administrator must have the following rights:

  • On DSM side (DSMC), administrator rights.The task is executed on ORG level.
  • On the client, local administrator rights for the installation from the storage medium.
