Installation of Windows Services

In order to be able to install the DSM services (e.g. DSM Runtime Service, Service Installation Service (SIS), Distribution Service) on a remote computer, the following Windows services must be running on the remote computer (workstation or server).

• Server Service
• Workstation Service
• Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Service
• Windows XP: Secondary Logon Service

These services are automatically activated by default in Windows.

If you use the SIS, the services mentioned must be running on every managed computer.
