Asset Manager user roles
Asset Manager Essentials contains a default set of roles that define responsibilities for users as they work within the product. Access to the different product workspaces is controlled by the roles that your user account is associated with. For an overview of available workspaces and the roles that can access them, see Workspaces defined.
There are 8 user roles specific to Asset Manager Essentials, as defined below. The Asset Administrator can assign a single user more than one role if necessary. Roles are predefined and can't be modified; you also can't create new ones.
If your system is integrated with Ivanti Service Manager, you may also see user roles in the roles drop-down list that are related to that product.
The Asset Administrator role is used for all administrative functions within your Asset Manager Essentials system. An Asset Administrator has access to all workspaces and dashboards and can add and edit records for assets and employees, assign user roles, create locations, create new values in validation lists (such as Asset Sub Types), and so on. The Asset Manager role is the most common role. These users have access to all of the workspaces used on a daily basis to manage the assets in an organization, minus the administrative features. They also have access to all dashboards. Note that the other manager roles have overlapping responsibilities with the Asset Manager role, so those users have access to many of the same workspaces.

The Asset Mobile role is for end users who will use the Asset Manager Essentials Self-Service Portal website to place their own asset requests from the Product Catalog. These users can obtain the URL to the portal from a user with one of the manager roles.

The Asset Scanner role is for users who are going to use the barcode scanning functionality of Asset Manager Essentials. For details, see Barcode scanning.
The Contract Manager role is meant for users who are responsible for managing any contract agreements in your organization. Learn more about:

The Procurement Manager role is meant for users who are responsible for buying assets, managing vendor relationships, and maintaining the Product Catalog (which is the list of approved assets that have associated approved vendors and costs). Learn more about:

The Storage Manager role is meant for users who maintain stock levels, track the location of assets, and look after your storage spaces and warehouses. Learn more about:

The Report Manager role is used to access the SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports that provide more in-depth reporting information about your assets. For a full list of supplied reports and what they display about your assets, see Reports.
