Configure classification data connections

Use the Data Model > Data Connections node to configure data connections that can synchronize specific data from an external source. Use classification data connections to synchronize classifications.

Field	Explanation and Tips
Properties tab	In the Data Source field, specify the Data Source that contains the external data that you want to synchronize.
Mappings tab	Specify which external data you want to synchronize and how. In the Look up people on field, specify the method that identifies people in Ivanti Identity Director AND the external data. In the Using data field field, specify the field or column in the external data that stores this method. Click to create a custom value for looking up people, by combining multiple fields from the Data Source, and/or using functions. In the Assign people to field, specify the organizational context to which you want to assign the people. In the Look up on field, specify the method that identifies organizational context in the external data. In the Using data field field, specify the field or column in the external data that stores this method. Click to create a custom value for looking up organizational context, by combining multiple fields from the Data Source, and/or using functions. In the Path separator field, specify the separator that is used in the external data. This field is only relevant if the Data Connection looks up on Name or Path + Name. Select Allow deletes for an additional synchronization option. This option is particularly useful if you have synchronized the data connection before.
Diagnostics	View information about the previous synchronization. It shows the number of records that were affected and its duration.
