Using the Search Tool
You can easily search for updates contained in the top pane. All searches are performed using the Search tool. To initiate a search you type the text you want to find and then press Enter. Only those updates matching the search criteria are displayed; all other updates are hidden.
Tips for Using the Search Tool
- The Search tool works only on the information currently visible in the top pane. You can right-click on the column headers to add or remove columns to be searched.
- If a filter is applied, only updates matching both the search criteria and the filter criteria are displayed
- All partial matches are displayed
- The search is not case sensitive
- If you want to search for a string containing a space character, put the string in quotation marks.
- If you specify a search string without quotation marks, words separated by a space character are treated as separate search conditions.
- To search within a specific column, precede the search string with the column name plus a colon character.
- To implement the logical AND operator, precede a condition with "+".
- To implement the logical NOT operator, precede a condition with "-".
- The use of wildcards is not allowed.
- To clear the search criteria, click the
icon located on the right side of the search box.
Example: "Adobe Systems"
Example: Adobe Systems. This will select records that contain either Adobe OR Systems
Example: Title:Adobe. This will select records in the Title column that contain the term Adobe.
Example: Adobe +Flash. This will select records that contain both Adobe and Flash.
Example: Adobe -Flash. This will select records that contain Abobe, excluding records that contain Flash.
