Getting Started with Identity Director
Scenario 3: Integrate with Ivanti Workspace Control
The Catalog Services have been deprecated as of Identity Director 2019.1. At the time of release, the integration of Workspace Control using the Identity DirectorManagement Portal was still under development. As a workaround, you can install the Catalog Services from a previous version of Identity Director, which you can download from the Community.
The description below assumes that Catalog Services are installed in your environment. It will be updated after the revised integration becomes available for Workspace Control.
If you integrate Identity Director in Ivanti Workspace Control, you can use services as access principle for applications and settings. These applications and settings will then only be available in the user workspace if the user subscribes to these services. In this scenario, you will configure a Service Publication and use the service Adobe Illustrator as an access principle for an application. This requires a functional Ivanti Workspace Control environment.

- Start the Management Portal.
- At Setup > Service Publications, click the tile of the default publication Ivanti Workspace Control.
- Click the Published Services tab.
- Click the plus sign.
- Select the service Adobe Illustrator and click OK to add it to the Service Publication.
- Click Save.

- Start the Ivanti Workspace Control Console.
- In the menu, click Setup > Ivanti Products > Identity Director.
- On the Settings tab, select Enable Identity Director Integration.
- Specify the Catalog host name and port. The catalog host is the device on which the Catalog Services run. You can use either its FQDN or its IP address. The default port of the Catalog Services is 8080.
- In the Publication name field, specify Ivanti Workspace Control.
- If you specified a password for the publication when you configured it in Identity Director, specify it in the Publication password field.
- Click Test now to test whether you can actually connect to the specified Catalog Host. If connection is possible, the Identity Director Integration window shows the services in the service publication (for example, Send message).
- Close the Identity Director Integration window.
- Click Exit Setup Mode and save the changes.
- Click Composition > Applications.
- Open the properties of an application (for example, Calculator).
- Click Access Control > Identity.
- In the Type field, select Identity Director Service.
- In the Available Services area, select the service Adobe Illustrator and add it to the Selected Services area.
- Click OK.
- By setting the access principle Send message for the application Calculator, only users who subscribe to the service Adobe Illustrator get access to the application. You can test this by delivering the service with the Web Portal to Amanda Cavendish, and then logging in to your Ivanti Workspace Control environment as this user. If you log in as John Smith, the application Calculator should not be available.
