Configure administrative roles

In the Management Portal at Setup > Administrative Roles, you can control access to the Management Portal and Setup and Sync Tool. By default, access to the Management Portal is unsecured: because the Management Portal is web-based, anyone with an Active Directory account can access it from any location. This includes end users. With administrative roles you can prevent unauthorized access to the Management Portal and Setup and Sync Tool, and assign different levels of access to authorized users. This ensures they can perform only the tasks or view information that they are entitled to.

Secured access to the Management Portal and the Setup and Sync Tool is determined by:

  • A login account, which authenticates a user.
  • An administrative role, which determines what this user is allowed to do.
