Specify alternative ports for Microsoft SQL Server

You can configure Microsoft SQL Server database servers to listen on a different port than the default 1433. You need to specify this port number in Identity Director from the moment it is used on the database server.

New environments

When you select a database server in the Datastore Wizard, also specify the port number in the Database server field. Separate server name and port number with a comma (,).
Example: sqlserver.example.com,49157

Existing environments

  1. At Setup > Datastore, specify the port number in the Database server field. Separate server name and port number with a colon (:).

    Example: sqlserver.example.com:50021
  2. Click Test Connection and, upon successful connection, Save.
  3. Do the same for the Setup and Sync Tool.
  4. Repair all Transaction Engines.
