Configure Organizational Attribute data connections

Use Organizational Attribute data connections to synchronize organizational attributes and people attributes.

Properties tab

Specify the Data Source that contains the external data that you want to synchronize. You can configure Data Sources in the Setup and Sync Tool.

Mappings tab

Specify which external data you want to synchronize and how.

Field Explanation and Tips
Assign attributes to Specify the organizational context to which you want to assign the attributes. This item must also exists in the external data source, otherwise no items are synchronized.
Look up on Specify the search method for organizational context in the external data.

Using data field

Specify the field or column in the external data that stores this search method.

Look up attribute on

Specify how to search for attributes in the external data. This allows you to use different designs of external data sources.

  • Row value:
    • In the Using data field field, specify the field or column in the external data that stores the name of the attributes.
    • In the And set value to field, specify the field or column in the external data that stores the value of the attributes.
  • Column name:
    • In the Using data field field, specify the column(s) in the external data that store the attribute information you want to synchronize. The selected column names are the names of the attributes.

Path separator

Specify the separator that is used in the external data. This field is only relevant if the data connection looks up on Name or Path + Name.

Allow updates/Allow deletes

Additional synchronization options that are particularly useful if you have synchronized the data connection before.

Diagnostics tab

View information about the previous synchronization, including its duration and the number of affected records.
