Start Return
Each service return workflow starts with a Start Return trigger. This specifies the events that set off the return workflow.
Clear the Enabled option to make returning the service (temporarily) unavailable. Users can still cancel the service directly from the Management Portal and from delegated administration panels in the Web Portal.
- When subscribers cancel the service
Allow subscribers to cancel the service themselves. This shows a Remove button on the details page of the service in the Web Portal, which allows users to return a service.
- When subscribers no longer qualify
Trigger the return of the service when subscribers no longer qualify. This is useful for services that need to be returned as soon as someone no longer qualifies for the service. For example, if someone in your organization moves to a different department, you may want to revoke access to the printers of his former department.
The Transaction Safeguard can be used for this return trigger. - As soon as service has been delivered
Trigger the return of the service immediately after delivery. As a result, the user can request the service again at a later stage. It also enables configuration of recurring auto provisioning at a specific time. This is useful for services that provide information that may change over time. For example, a service that provides information about a person's manager.
- As soon as subscribers are marked for deletion
Trigger the return of the service when you want to delete subscribers: you cannot delete people before all services to which they subscribe are returned. For example, if someone leaves your organization, all services to which he subscribes need to be returned first before you can delete him: if he subscribes to the services Provide Mobile Phone, Provide Laptop and Provide Lease Car, these need to be returned first.
The Transaction Safeguard can be used for this return trigger. - Using time criteria
Trigger the return of the service at the specified date and time. Identity Director can return the service At a fixed datetime (UTC) or it can Wait for an interval calculated from service delivery.
If the service was delivered multiple times, all instances of the service are returned.- Use people attribute
Select this option if you want to use a people attribute of type Text to specify the datetime (UTC) for return of the service.
Format of the datetime: YYYY-MM-DD HH:NN
Example: 2018-06-25 13:25
The Transaction Safeguard can be used for this return trigger.
- Use people attribute
The availability of trigger options may be subject to the license type used in your environment.
