Add classifications

These examples shows how you can use service attributes in a Set Organizational Context action to add organizational elements to the classifications of the subscriber.

Configuration

  1. At Entitlement Catalog, configure a service.
  2. On the Attributes tab of the service, create an organization service attribute MyDepartment.
  3. On the Workflow tab, add a Provide Information action to the delivery workflow.
  4. In the Provide Information action, configure a page that requests the service attribute MyDepartment.
  5. Click OK and add a Set Organizational Context action to the workflow.
  6. On the Set Organizational Context page, select Add.
  7. Select Use Service Attribute and the service attribute MyDepartment.
  8. Leave the other settings as they are and save the service.

Scenario 1

The subscriber is not classified in any organizational element.

In this scenario, if the subscriber selects the value Departments\Sales when the service is requested, the subscriber is classified in the organizational elements Departments\Sales.

Scenario 2

The subscriber is classified in the organizational elements Locations\Boston and Departments\HR.

In this scenario, if the subscriber selects the value Departments\Marketing when the service is requested, the subscriber is classified in the organizational elements:

  • Locations\Boston
  • Departments\HR
  • Departments\Marketing

Scenario 3

In the Set Organizational Context action, you select the OR option in the Relationship field.

The subscriber to the service is classified in the organizational elements Locations\Boston, Departments\HR and Departments\Marketing.

In this scenario, if the subscriber selects the value Locations\New York when the service is requested, the subscriber is classified in the organizational elements:

  • Locations\Boston
  • Departments\HR
  • Departments\Marketing

OR

  • Locations\New York
