Standard installation

This section describes the standard installation, using the three servers described above. The standard installation involves:

  1. Restoring the database on your database server
  2. Setting up the Ivanti Web server
  3. Upgrading the Service Desk Framework
  4. Applying the license
  5. Setting up the Ivanti Application Services server
  6. Setting up the client applications

When installing, log on to the server as a server administrator.

Installing Windows Server prerequisites

Windows Server 2012 or later don't allow Microsoft .Net 3.5, one of the prerequisites for Service Desk and Asset Manager, to be installed by the installer. Instead, you need to set up this prerequisite yourself before starting the installer.
