CI exception reports
If you are managing the versions of your CIs, you will want to know if a managed attribute on a CI has changed without an associated Change previously being raised. You can configure and schedule exception reports to help with this.
CI exception reports highlight any managed attributes that your discovery tools (for example, Ivanti Endpoint Manager) show have changed from the values stored in the database. You can then create Changes directly from the report to either Accept or Reverse any exceptions listed in the exception report.
The exception reports are configured using the Schedule Manager component, and viewed using the CI Exception Reports component.
Preparing to use CI exception reports
The exception report compares the values of attributes on discovered CIs with the matching version-controlled attributes on CIs that have Managed Version Control enabled.
Before you can configure a CI exception report, you need to:
- Use the Data Connections component to create a connection to your discovery tool that makes the required attributes available. For more information, see Data connections.
- Use Object Designer to set up Managed Version Control for the CI types that you want to monitor, and enable version controlling for the specific attributes that you are interested in. For more information, see Configuration item types.
