Mapping fields for Remedy forms
Once you have used Asset Lifecycle Manager's Configure Fields tool to create the fields you want to use for Remedy, you can map them to the corresponding fields in the Remedy form that your workflow needs to interact with. You do this using the Property mappings dialog box, which you access from the Attributes panel.
To map Asset Lifecycle Manager fields to Remedy fields
- Drag the Remedy action you want to use to the canvas.
- Click on the Remedy action to define its attributes.
- In the Advanced tab, click the Request Form row.
- Click the Browse[...] button to open the Property mappings dialog box.
- Select the form and view you want to interact with, using the drop-down list boxes.
- In the Form fields window, select the Remedy field you want to map.
- In the Field mapping window, click the plus sign [+] next to the field category, then click the Asset Lifecycle Manager field you want to assign to the selected field.
- When you finish defining a field, select its checkbox to save the mapping after you exit the dialog box.
- Repeat steps 6 and 7 for each field that needs to be mapped.
- When you have finished mapping fields, click OK to close the Property mappings dialog box.
Tips
- When you assign an Asset Lifecycle Manager field to a Remedy field, a gray bar highlights it to indicate it has been mapped. The highlight bar appears whenever the corresponding Remedy field is selected in the Form fields panel.
- To assign a new value instead of using an Asset Lifecycle Manager field, check the box next to Enter a value for the input parameter, and then type a name or description for the value.
- If you click OK to exit the dialog box before assigning a required field, an error message appears, with a reminder that a field or default value must be assigned.
