Lost mode (iOS/iPadOS)

Remotely lock managed iOS or iPadOS devices if they are stolen or lost. When lost mode is enabled, the device user see a message on their lock screen and need to contact an administrator to unlock the device. They will not be able to unlock or use the device as long as lost mode is enabled. You can also use lost mode sound to make the device beep until it is found.

Lost mode is a reactive security measure, immediately locking the device. It should be enabled after the device goes missing. If you are interested in enabling additional security proactively, see Activation lock (Apple).
