About the Active directory source dialog box

Right-click the Network view's Directory item, and click Manage directory to open the Active directory source dialog box. This dialog box allows you to start managing a new directory, or to view properties of a currently managed directory. Clicking the Add or Edit button shows the Active Directory source dialog box, where you can enter your Active Directory information:

  • Directory path: Lets you specify the LDAP directory to be managed. An example of an LDAP directory and the correct syntax is ldap.<companyname>.com. For example, you might type ldap.xyzcompany.com.
  • Authentication: Lets you log in as the following user (that is, you specify a user path and name and the user password).

The Active Directory user credentials you provide must be able to read and traverse Active Directory and the root of your Active Directory structure.
