When you design a new process, bear in mind that the process itself defines what a user can do and when. We recommend that optional actions are available at most stages of the process, so that your users are not restricted to providing extra information (such as adding notes, sending reminders and so on) at a particular stage only.
If you add optional actions to a status, they are not immediately visible if you look at the process as a whole. You might find it useful to annotate your process drawing. For more information, see Formatting process diagrams.
