Upgrading to Service Desk or Asset Manager 2018.3
This document describes how to upgrade from V7.6 or later to Service Desk or Asset Manager 2018.3.
IMPORTANT: When you have upgraded to 2018.3, we recommend that you apply the latest update. For more information, see Applying an update to Service Desk 2018.3.
If you are upgrading from a version earlier than V7.6, you also need to refer to the Service Desk help for V7.8, which includes information about upgrading from earlier versions.
If you are upgrading from V7.7.x, first you need to upgrade to V7.8.x before you can upgrade to the latest version.
This document describes how to upgrade to Service Desk or Asset Manager 2018.3 from a number of earlier versions. If you are upgrading from V7.6, you will need to complete all of the steps; if you are upgrading from a later version, you will need only a few of the steps. Each section of this document has a version number associated with it. Complete the instructions in the sections where the version number in brackets is higher than the version you are upgrading from. For example, if you are upgrading from 7.7 run all sections that have 7.7.1 or higher in brackets next to them.
Before upgrading, make sure you have prepared your IT infrastructure for the new version of Service Desk or Asset Manager. Refer to the Supported Platforms and Feature Compatibility document and Supported Platforms.
