Navigation

You can return to the end user home page by clicking the logo in the title bar at the top of the page on larger screen sizes. However, the main mechanism for accessing the different areas and features of Workspaces is using the menu. There is also a navigation icon that helps you to identify where you are within the application and to navigate back to earlier pages.

For information about setting the home page, see Managing dashboards in Workspaces.

The menu

On most devices, the menu appears when you click at the top of the page. On very large browser windows, the menu is always visible.

The menu contains a number of groups, depending on which Ivanti products you are using in Workspaces, and which user type you sign in as. If you sign in as an end-user or analyst, you see a Self Service menu group containing your Self Service shortcuts. If you sign in as an analyst, you also see an Analyst Workspace group that contains a Home Dashboard link that displays the analyst's home page. If you sign in as an analyst with the Administrators role, you also an Administration section that provides access to certain administrative tools such as the Theming page.

The shortcut groups in the Self Service menu group initially appear collapsed. Click the arrows to expand the shortcut groups to access the shortcuts within the group, or click the title of the group to run the shortcut that is associated with the group itself.

Clicking My Profile under the user name displays the User Profile page for the logged on user. If you have Service Desk or Asset Manager configured to work with Workspaces, the User Details tab that appears uses the appropriate user window that you designed in Window Manager. If you have Management Suite configured to work with Workspaces, a Devices tab is also available that gives access to your devices.

The navigation icon

In addition to the menu, you can also use the navigation icon to help you to identify where you are within the application and to navigate back to earlier pages. This navigation mechanism changes depending on the size of device you are using.

On smaller screen sizes, the navigation icon – Navigation icon – appears at the top of the page. Clicking this icon displays a menu that provides context for the current page and enables you to navigate to other pages by clicking the required menu item.

On larger screens, the navigation links are always displayed under the page title.
