Steps descriptions

You can use the following steps in scenario models:

Change Software – enables you to select the software that will be changed in the scenario model from one software item to another.

Change Hardware – enables you to select the hardware to be changed. You can specify the hardware by:

Identifying the products installed on the hardware

Partition type

Business unit

Hardware status

Software category

Identifying specific named machines

You can also determine what should happen to the hardware being changed:

Nothing

Re-provisioning elsewhere in the business (no depreciation or salvage is applied)

Applying depreciation and salvage to the hardware

You can identify the hardware to be migrated to in the scenario. Either select from a list of standard build machines (on premise) or use the Cloud tab to identify a cloud-based server. Use the hardware specification calculation within the cloud tab to have the system identify the right machine for you specific requirements.

Add Software – enables you to select the software to be added in the scenario model. You can also identify the hardware on which the software will be added and the business unit into which the software will be incorporated.

Add Hardware – enables you to select the hardware and quantity of hardware to be added in the scenario model. You can also identify the business unit into which the hardware will be incorporated.

Add Usage – enables you to select a product, usage measurement, and count to be added in the scenario model.

Remove Software – enables you to select software to be removed from the estate in the scenario model.

Remove Hardware – enables you to select the hardware to be removed from the estate in the scenario model.

Add Licenses – enables you to specify the entitlement and quantity of entitlement to be added in the scenario model.

Edit Licenses – enables you to specify the entitlement that will be changed in the scenario model from one software item to another.
