Image components

You can use image components to display company logos within dashboards and documents, as well as charts and graphs from other products. Do so by uploading the images to the Xtraction server or by displaying them via a URL.

Image components are not dependent on data and do not use a data model.

To edit image component properties

If you're not already connected to a data source, click the icon in the left navigation pane and connect to one.

1.From the navigation pane, drag and drop an image component onto a pane in the layout. The Image Component dialog displays with the following options:

General tab

Title: Title for the image as it will display in the pane header.

Name: Optional description.

Image source: Where the image comes from:

URL: Use this option to point to a URL that contains either a static image or a dynamic one that may change over time. Enter the entire URL and path to the image (including http:// or https://). Only use URLs that you know are reliably accessible.

Server: Use this option if you have a static image on your device that you want to display within the dashboard. The image will be uploaded to the Xtraction server.

Output tab

Fill: Fill options include scale, clip, and repeat. Use scale to letterbox the image or stretch it across the details pane. Use clip to cut off the image's edges if it doesn't fit properly in the details pane. Use repeat to tile the image in the details pane.

Scaling: Only available if Fill is set to "scale." Scaling options include letterbox and stretch.

Vertical align: Select to position the image vertically in the details pane.

Horizontal align: Select to position the image horizontally in the details pane.

Notes tab

Enter explanatory text directly into the blank area, which will display when your mouse hovers over the icon for the component. If Show notes is selected for an export, these notes are included in the component export.

2.Click OK to save.
