Asset Management: Disposal

This topic applies to systems using an Asset Manager or Universal license only.

The Disposal process provides a basic Asset lifecycle for disposing of assets.

When you log a Disposal activity, you specify the Configuration Item that you are going to dispose.

When the asset disposal process is submitted, a task is added to handle backing up the device that is being disposed. When this task is completed, another new task is added to complete the software transfer for the device. Each time a task in this process is completed, a new task is automatically added to handle the next stage of the disposal: completing the disk image, wiping the disk/memory, and then disposing the device. Finally, the Disposal Complete action moves the process to the Disposed end status.

There are no optional actions.
