Device-to-User Mapping in Bulk Enrollment Profiles

Device-to-user mapping in bulk enrollment profiles allows administrators to assign a specific user to each device during bulk enrollment in Ivanti Neurons for MDM. This feature automatically assigns devices to their designated users during enrollment and eliminates the need for manual user assignment afterward.

When creating a bulk enrollment profile, administrators can select the Self Maintained Device User option. This option enables a one-to-one mapping between devices and users.

With Device-to-User Mapping enabled:

  • Associate each device with a specific user.

  • Import user assignments through the Bulk Enrollment CSV file.

  • Automatically assign devices to their designated users during enrollment.

  • Modify user assignments before enrollment from the device edit page.

CSV File Requirements

The bulk enrollment CSV template includes a Username column that specifies the user associated with each device.

The specified users must already exist in Ivanti Neurons for MDM before you upload the CSV file. If the specified user does not exist in Ivanti Neurons for MDM, the bulk enrollment process generates an error and excludes the device.

Manual Device Addition

When manually adding devices to a bulk enrollment profile that uses Device-to-User Mapping, administrators can assign a user by using the User field.

Modifying User Assignments

Administrators can change the user assigned to a device from the device edit page before enrolling the device.

Procedure

  1. Go to Devices > Bulk Enrollment.

  2. Click Add.

  3. Enter the Profile Name.

  4. Select the Self Maintained Device User checkbox.

    This option enables one-to-one mapping between devices and users. This option is not selected by default.

    Selecting the Self Maintained Device User checkbox always creates a bulk enrollment profile with token in Ivanti Neurons for MDM.

  5. Download the CSV template.

  6. Open the CSV file and populate the device information.

  7. In the Username column, specify the user to associate with each device.

  8. Save the CSV file.

  9. Upload the CSV file.

    Verify that the profile displays the devices and their assigned users correctly based on the entries in the CSV file.

  10. Click Done to save the profile.

Make sure that the CSV file contains a Username column and specifies a user for each device. Missing the Username column or empty user values cause validation errors that prevent the CSV file from uploading.
