Enabling Server Name Lookup

Administrators must initiate registration or invite the device user to register. To do this, you will need to file a support ticket with Ivanti Customer Support, and provide the email domain and Ivanti EPMM URL. Ivanti then adds this information to the App Gateway. At this point, anyone with some effort can figure out how to query the App Gateway and discover your Ivanti EPMM URL irrespective of whether you enabled Server Name Lookup or not. If you are not comfortable that your Ivanti EPMM URL may be discovered by anyone, then you should not file a support ticket to enable Server Name Lookup.

If you have opted-in Server Name Lookup but now want to opt-out, it is not enough to deselect the Enable Server Lookup check box in Ivanti EPMM. You will need to file a support ticket and request that Server Name Lookup be disabled. See Disabling Server Name Lookup.

If the administrator has not enabled Server Name Lookup, the email the device user gets will ask them to enter the full URL of Ivanti EPMM into Ivanti Mobile@Work . If the administrator enabled Server Name Lookup, the email sent to the device user will ask them to enter the email domain.

Procedure 

  1. File a support ticket and provide the email_domain and the Ivanti EPMM URL. Ask that Server Name Lookup be enabled.
  2. In the Admin Portal, go to Settings > System Settings.
  3. Select on Users & Devices > Device Registration.
  4. Select the Enable Server Name Lookup check box.

  5. Select Save.

Disabling Server Name Lookup

If you have opted-in but now want to opt-out, it is not enough to deselect the Enable Server Lookup check box. You will need to file a support ticket and request that the Server Name Lookup be disabled. Once this is completed, anyone can discover the URL of your Ivanti EPMM.

IMPORTANT: If you are not comfortable that your Ivanti EPMM URL can be discovered by anyone, you should not file a support ticket to disable Server Name Lookup.

Procedure 

  1. File a support ticket and provide the email_domain and the Ivanti EPMM URL. Ask that Server Name Lookup be disabled.
  2. In the Admin Portal, go to Settings > System Settings.
  3. Select on Users & Devices > Device Registration.
  4. Deselect the Enable Server Name Lookup check box.

  5. Select Save.
