Shared iPad delete user session

Administrators can select the list of users on the shared iPad and then delete the session for all device users on that shared iPad. The delete user option frees up the allocated space that is no longer required.

Administrators can also select individual device users and end their session by clicking the Log Out link.

All delete commands are recorded in the device logs.

Deleting logged-in users' from shared iPad device

You can delete a user or multiple user accounts on the shared iPad devices. In the Users tab, the Active column displays currently logged in users. The delete option is not applicable for currently logged in users on the shared iPad device.

Procedure 

  1. In the Admin Portal, go to Devices & Users > Devices.
  2. Select a shared iPad device to display the Device Details and then click on the Users tab. A list of managed Apple ID users currently logged into the shared device displays.
  3. To end the shared iPad session for all logged-in users, click the Delete All button.
  4. A confirmation dialog box displays. You can select either or both options:

    • Require Network Tether -- If selected, the device will not perform the action unless it is network-tethered.

    • Force Delete regardless of iCloud data upload - If selected, any information on the device not yet uploaded to iCloud will be lost.

  5. Select I Accept to confirm logging out all logged in shared iPad users.
  6. Click Delete.

Logging out user from shared iPad device

The administrator can select and force log out a user on a shared iPad device. A shared iPad user, must be logged out first; logged out users are indicated with a "-" minus icon in the Actions column.

  1. In the Device Details page, click on the Users tab.
  2. In the Actions column of the user you want to log out, click the Log Out link.
  3. A confirmation dialog box displays. You can select either or both options:

    • Require Network Tether -If selected, the device will not perform the action unless it is network-tethered.

    • Force Delete regardless of iCloud data upload - Selecting this means any information on the device not yet uploaded to iCloud will be lost.

  4. Click Logout.
