Configuring the default ownership for newly registered devices

By default, all newly registered devices are configured as company-owned. You can change this default setting to employee-owned (and back) on the Registration page.

Alternatively, you can change the ownership of a device after registration by:

  • Selecting More > Change Ownership in the User Portal. For more information, see What is the self-service user portal?
  • Selecting Devices & Users > Devices > Actions > Change Ownership in Ivanti EPMM.

Procedure

  1. In Ivanti EPMM, go to Settings > System Settings > Users & Devices > Registration.
  2. Under Ownership Settings:
    1. For the Default ownership for a newly registered device setting, select the relevant radio button Company owned or Employee owned.

    2. For the Default ownership for a device newly registered at the user Self-Serive Portal setting, select the relevant radio button Company owned or Employee owned.

This only impacts the default selection in the self-service portal at the time of new device registration. Device users can still change the device ownership.

    3. For the Default ownership of Android devices using Google ZT or Samsung KME or non-GMS (AOSP) mode setting, select the relevant radio button Company owned or Employee owned.

      • Select Show Terms of Service to have them displayed on the client. Otherwise, they will not display (default.) (To create a Terms of Service, see Configuring an end user Terms of Service agreement.) This feature is only applicable to company-owned devices.

  3. Select Save.
