tvOS policy settings

This section addresses tvOS policies.

TV remote policy

Applicable to supervised devices: iPads, iPhones, iPods, and Apple TV 11.3 or later. Apple TV will get all iOS MAC addresses regardless of supervision. The iOS device will only apply the policy if it is supervised.

Once the TV Remote policy is available, you will need to attach labels to the policy. Attach a label for your Apple TVs and attach another label for your iOS devices. They will both get the appropriate configurations to be able to communicate with each other.

Procedure 

  1. In the Admin portal, click Policies > Policies & Configurations.
  2. Click Add New and select Apple > iOS / tvOS > TV Remote.

    The New TV Remote Policy dialog box opens.

    Description

    Name

    Enter a name for the TV Remote policy.

    Status

    Select Active to enable the TV Remote policy, or Inactive to disable it.

    Priority

    Set the priority of the TV Remote policy if there is more than one policy.

    If you want to place greater priority on this TV Remote policy than another, select Higher than, and then select the TV Remote policy over which this policy will take priority.

    If you want to place lesser priority on this TV Remote policy than another, select Lower than, and then select the TV Remote policy that will be used before the one you are defining.

    Description

    Enter a description for the TV Remote policy.

  3. Click Save.

Conference room message policy

Applicable to tvOS 13 and later supported versions.

The Conference Room Message policy requires Apple TV supervised devices.

Once the policy is available, you will need to attach labels to the policy. Attach a label for your Apple TVs and attach another label for your iOS devices. They will both get the appropriate configurations to be able to communicate with each other.

Procedure 

  1. In the Admin portal, click Policies > Policies & Configurations.
  2. Click Add New and select Apple > iOS / tvOS > Conference Room Message.

    The New Conference Room Message Policy dialog box opens.

    Name

    Enter a name for the Conference Room Message policy.

    Status

    Select Active to enable the Conference Room Message policy, or Inactive to disable it.

    Priority

    Set the priority of the Conference Room Message policy if there is more than one policy.

    Conference Room Message

    Enter the text you want to have displayed on the screen in the Conference Room.

  3. Click Save.
