Printer management

Ivanti EPMM allows administrators to create printer profiles and add them to devices. This section includes the following topics:

•Adding a shared printer

•Adding a network printer

Adding a shared printer

A shared printer can only be set on domain joined devices. If you do not plan to domain join the device then a network printer option must be used. When the printer profile is sent to the device, the printer must be active, otherwise the device cannot discover it.

Procedure 

  1. Log into the Admin Portal.
  2. Go to Policies & Configs > Configurations.
  3. Select Add New > Windows > MobileIron (Windows 10 Only) > Add Printer.
  4. Select Shared Printer as the Printer type.
  5. Enter the name of the printer configuration in the Name field.
  6. Enter the IP address in the Print server field.
  7. Enter the printer name in the Shared printer name field.
  8. Select Save.

  9. Apply the printer configuration to a label to deploy the app to devices.

    Select the newly created shared printer configuration.

  10. Select Actions > Apply to Labels.

    Select one or more labels.

  11. Select Apply.

Based on the settings, the next time the devices associated with that label sync with Ivanti EPMM, they will be connected to the configured printer.

Adding a network printer

Procedure 

  1. Log into the Admin Portal.
  2. Go to Policies & Configs > Configurations.
  3. Select Add New > Windows > MobileIron (Windows 10 Only) > Add Printer.
  4. Select Network-attached Printer as the Printer type.
  5. Enter the name of the printer configuration in the Name field.
  6. Enter the printer name in the Printer name field.
  7. Enter the address of the network printer in the Printer port number field
  8. Enter the name of the printer driver in the Printer driver name field
  9. Select Save.
  10. Apply the printer configuration to a label to deploy the app to devices.
  11. Select the newly created network printer configuration.

  12. Select Actions > Apply to Labels.

    Select one or more labels.

  13. Select Apply.

Based on the settings, the next time the devices associated with that label sync with Ivanti EPMM, they will be connected to the configured printer.
