Migration Assistant Settings

Use the Migration Assistant Settings to configure Migration Assistant settings on supervised devices. This configuration helps administrators apply consistent, policy-based controls that manage how users transfer data, apps, and settings during device setup or migration.

Applicable to:

  • macOS 26.4+ Supervised through the most recently released version as supported by Ivanti Neurons for MDM.

Procedure

  1. Go to Configurations > +Add.
  2. Search and select the Migration Assistant Settings configuration.

  3. Configure the Migration Assistant Settings settings as per the following table:

    Setting

    What To Do

    Name

    Enter a name that identifies this configuration.

    Description

    Enter a description that clarifies the purpose of this configuration.

    Should Do Managed Migration

    Select the checkbox to enable and manage Migration of devices.

    Toggle the Push to Device button to enable Migration of devices.

    Excluded Accounts

    Enter the account names that you want to exclude from migrating.

    Toggle the Push to Device button to enable exclusion of accounts.

    Excluded Paths

    Enter the path names that you want to exclude from migrating.

    Toggle the Push to Device button to enable exclusion of paths.

    Required Paths

    Enter the path names that you want to include in migration.

    Toggle the Push to Device button to enable inclusion of paths.

    Should Migrate Security Privacy Settings

    Select the checkbox to enable migration of Security Privacy Settings from devices.

    Toggle the Push to Device button to enable migration of Security Privacy Settings.
  4. Click Next to configure the distribution settings.
  5. Select one of the distribution options to set up the Migration Assistant Settings configuration. For more information about configuring distribution options, see Working with Configurations.
  6. Click Done.
