SSL Encryption
This chapter explains how to use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption with the Virtual Traffic Manager. It includes a description of SSL and how to use the Virtual Traffic Manager to manage authentication and encryption, as well as the storage of certificates.
Version 3 of the SSL protocol was superseded by the Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol versions 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3. The Virtual Traffic Manager uses the term SSL throughout to refer generically to both SSL and TLS protocols, except where a particular SSL version is specified.
