Prerequisites

The APIs are available through the Swagger UI included in the Workspace Control Management Portal. To access the APIs, the following third-party software and Workspace Control components need to be installed:

• Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2 is required before installing Workspace Control.

• Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.5 or higher is required before installing the Management Portal. The IIS can be installed on machines running Microsoft operating systems:

  • Windows Server 2012 R2 or newer.
    Install IIS from the Server Manager under Dashboard > Add roles and features > Server Roles > Web Server (IIS).

  • Windows 8.1, Windows 10 or newer.
    Install IIS from the Windows Control Panel under Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off > Internet Information Services.

• A working Workspace Control environment.

Recommendations

Consider the following when setting up the Workspace Control Management Portal:

• Ivanti recommends installing the Management Portal on a web server. Ivanti does not recommend installing it on a domain controller.

• When used as web servers, machines running Windows Desktop operating systems have a limit of 20 concurrent connected devices. Ivanti recommends using such machines only for testing purposes.
