ActiveSetupTimeout

Microsoft Active Setup is used to execute an application that is not registered with the Windows operating system or if the version in the Current User registry is lower than in the Local Machine registry.

In rare circumstances, Active Setup takes more than 60 seconds to complete. This can result in a timeout at logon.

Create the following DWORD (32-bit) value to configure the timeout period, in seconds, for Active Setup.

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\RES\Workspace Manager (32-bit)

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\RES\Workspace Manager (64-bit)
