Prerequisites

The following prerequisites are necessary before configuring Workspace Control with Azure capabilities:

  • .NET Framework 4.7.2 is required to install Workspace Control.

  • Enable TLS 1.2 for all machines with Console or Agent installed.

Microsoft no longer supports protocols TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.0 for connecting to Azure. See How to enable TLS 1.2 on clients for setting up the machine to use TLS 1.2.

  • Workspace Control Agents:

    • At minimum, Workspace Control 2020.0 (version 10.5.60.0) or later is installed on all Agents in your environment. Ivanti advises to always use the most recent major release of Workspace Control.

    • Agents must be installed on Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems.

    • Agents must be part of the same Microsoft Azure AD domain.

  • The Workspace Control Console is updated to 2020.0 (version 10.5.60.0) or later. Ivanti advises to always use the most recent major release of Workspace Control.

  • In the Workspace Control Console, under Composition > User Settings, enable at least one global user setting.

Ensure that under the Properties tab, the Zero Profile mode option for the user setting is set to either Capture targeted items on session end, or Capture targeted items once, then track further changes.

  • A valid Microsoft Azure subscription.

  • One of the following types of Azure administrative roles:

    • Global administrator

    • Application administrator

    • Cloud application administrator

  • The IWC.Azure.UserSettings ZIP file that contains the binaries needed to run the Web Service. The ZIP file is included in the Ivanti Workspace Control installation package that can be downloaded from the Product Downloads section of the Ivanti Community.
