Using VDX in a Production Environment
After purchasing VDX licenses, you need to import, register and activate them before using VDX in a production environment.
The licensing process consists of three steps and is identical for new or existing environments.
These steps are performed using the License Wizard. For more details, see License Wizard.

To import VDX licenses, follow these steps:

Save the license file received by e-mail to an accessible location.

Start the VDX Licensing Console.

From the Licenses tab, click on License Wizard.

In the opened wizard, click Next and then select Add VDX license.

Specify the file path and name of the license received by e-mail and then click Next.
- Review the license information and then click Finish.

After the VDX license is imported, a prompt to register and activate the license appears. You can continue with the Licensing process, or register and activate the license at a later time.

Evaluation licenses and Corporate licenses need to be registered immediately.

Production licenses can be registered immediately or within 30 days, else they expire.

To register VDX licenses, follow these steps:

Start the VDX Licensing Console.

From the Licenses tab, click on License Wizard.

In the opened wizard, click Next and then select Register VDX license(s) and request activation.

Select the type of license registration:
-
Register VDX license(s) for my company
Select this option if registering and activating the license for your company -
Register VDX license(s) for my customer
Select this option if registering and activating the license for a third-party company

Fill in the required company information and then click Next.

Fill in the required reseller or system integrator information and then click Next.

Fill in the required contact information and then click Next.

Enter the name of your VDX Site and then click Next.

Submit a request for license activation to Ivanti using one of the following methods:

Web: e-mail the activation request from the Ivanti website.

Save to file: save the activation request as a .TXT file and email it to [email protected].

Click Finish to close the license wizard.
After completing the license registration process, a single activation file is sent to the e-mail specified in the license file within 24 hours (working days only).

The name of the VDX Site must be a unique name in the production environment.

The VAT field is required only for EU member countries, except the Netherlands.

Licenses can be registered in bulk. When the registration process starts, the Datastore is scanned for licenses that are not already activated, and this information is stored in the text file that is sent to Ivanti.

At any time, additional licenses can be registered using the same procedure. Additional licenses must be registered under the same Site name.

To activate VDX licenses, follow these steps:

Save the activation file received by e-mail to an accessible location.

Start the VDX Licensing Console.

From the Licenses tab, click on License Wizard.

In the opened wizard, click Next and then select Activate VDX license(s).

Specify the filepath and filename of the activation file and then click Next.

Click Finish.
A prompt appears informing that the activation file was successfully imported.
When the licensing process is complete, the default Site ID is automatically replaced by a true Site ID that links your licenses to your business.

License files and activation files contain crucial information. Do not edit such files, as this action renders them useless.

The Ivanti Portal provides Solution Assurance benefits and access to product support. The portal is available to registered customers with valid, activated licenses.

To register your company, visit the Ivanti Portal and enter the Site ID of your environment.
