Configuration

Before you can create a Datastore in Ivanti Identity Director, you first need to create a database server on Microsoft Azure SQL Database:

  1. Log in to your Microsoft Azure Management Portal.
  2. Click New in the lower left corner.
  3. In the wizard, select Data Services > SQL Database > Quick Create.
  4. In the Database Name field, specify the name of a temporary database.
  5. In the Server field, select New SQL database server.
  6. In the Region field, select your region (e.g. East US when located in New York, North Europe when located in London).
  7. Specify a login name and its password.
  8. Click Create SQL Database.
  9. When the database has been created, open the database dashboard.
  10. Write down the SQL Database server name (i.e. <servername>.database.windows.net). You need this server name to specify the connections settings in Ivanti Identity Director.
  11. Click the link Manage allowed IP addresses to allow the current machine to talk to AZURE SQL SERVER.
  12. Click ADD TO THE ALLOWED IP ADDRESS.
  13. Click SAVE.
  14. Log in to the Setup and Sync Tool.
  15. At Setup > Datastore, click Create.
  16. In the wizard, specify the name and credentials of the SQL Database server that you just created on Microsoft Azure SQL Database.
  17. Complete the remaining steps of the wizard. Any credentials that you create must meed the Azure password complexity rules.
