In the Infrastructure Profile tab, you can edit the infrastructure profile name, status, and default WLAN ID based on the needs of your infrastructure.
Configure the following options on the Infrastructure Profile tab.
Name |
Sets the name of the profile. |
Status |
Sets the status of the profile as either enabled or disabled. |
Hardware Model |
Displays the hardware type of the infrastructure device. |
Firmware Version |
Displays the firmware version for the infrastructure device. |
Default WLAN ID |
Sets the number of the default WLAN ID. |
Use Legacy Management |
Determines whether infrastructure settings are defined using the Infrastructure Profiles tab or the Advanced Properties dialog box. This option is not user-configurable. |
Use 802.1Q Tagging |
Determines whether to use 802.1Q tagging, the specification that establishes a standard method for tagging Ethernet frames with WLAN membership information. |
Manage Infrastructure Using Secure Method |
Determines whether the infrastructure device is managed using a secure method (such as SSH). |
Edit Advanced Properties |
Allows you to configure advanced options for your infrastructure devices. |
The Manage Infrastructure Using Secure Method option is only supported by the following devices: Cisco IOS, Symbol 5131, and Symbol WS 2000.
To configure general settings for an infrastructure profile:
1 | From the Profiles tab, select the profile from the Profile List. |
2 | Click Edit. |
3 | Ensure you are on the Infrastructure Profile tab. |
4 | Configure the options as desired. |
5 | Save your changes. |
The infrastructure profile can be enabled and assigned to a location.
