TE Host Profile Configuration Payload (Android/iOS)

A TE host profile configuration payload sends a host profile to the TE Client installed on a smart device. The payload can be applied to folders that contain both Android and iOS devices, but some options are not supported on both platforms.

To create a TE host profile payload:

1.From the Profiles tab, click New Payload in the Available Payloads panel.
The Payload dialog box appears.

2.Select the iOS and Android option and then click TE Host Profile Configuration.
The host profile options appear.

3. Configure the payload by selecting the options available through the tabs on the left, and then click Save.

To apply the settings on devices, add the payload to an application configuration profile and apply the profile to a folder. Once you have performed a deployment, licensed devices assigned to that folder receive the settings the next time they check in. If a device is unlicensed, print the QR code associated with the folder and scan it with the device to configure the Client. A TE host profile configuration payload has the following options:

Profile Settings

Payload name (Host Profile name)	The name of the host profile.
Type	The emulation type that the mobile device uses when connected to the host system.
Address	The IP address or host name of the host system to which the mobile device will connect. To prompt a device user for all or part of the address, use a variable delineated by %. Variables can be used in DNS names or IP addresses. For example: 192.168.42.%Store Number% The text that is inside the % indicators is the information that appears in the prompt on the device. In the above example, the prompt on the device would ask the user for "Store Number". If the user provides the store number 123, the Client attempts to connect to 192.168.42.123.
Port	The TCP port number on which the host system is listening for emulation requests from Clients.
Use ConnectPro	Indicates whether the TE Client should only connect to the host through a ConnectPro server.
Use SSL/TLS	Uses SSL/TLS to encrypt the information sent to the host. There is no additional software for SSL/TLS on the Android device, but the host must be configured for SSL/TLS. When you enable SSL/TLS encryption, you must use a certificate. Select the certificate using a TE SSL Certificate payload. After you have configured a certificate payload, you can select the certificate in the drop-down menu for the host profile.
Use SSH	Uses SSH to encrypt the information sent to the host. There is no additional software necessary to use SSH on the device, but the host must be configured for SSH.
SSL Certificate (Android only)	The certificate the device should use for SSL. In order to associate a certificate with the host profile, create a TE SSL Certificate payload first.
Width of Telnet Window	The width of the Client display in columns. Setting a value other than 0 removes the green frame around the Telnet window.
Height of Telnet Window	The height of the Client display in rows. Setting a value other than 0 removes the green frame around the Telnet window.
Display in Black and White	Limits the display to white text on a black background.
Foreground	Sets the foreground color on the display.
Background	Sets the background color on the display.
Keyboard Tags	Assigns keyboard tags to a host profile for using specific custom keyboards created with the Ivanti Productivity Pack. Each tag should be separated by a comma. The order of keyboards presented from the TE Client is governed by their order in the Productivity Pack, not by the order of tags. If a tag is shared by multiple keyboards, keyboards are likewise given preference by their order in the Productivity Pack. If no keyboard tags are provided for a host profile and custom keyboards exist on a device with Terminal Emulation, the custom keyboards are used instead of the device's default keyboards for all host profiles. Workstation ID	An ID for mobile devices connecting to an IBM host. The ID may include static characters and the following switches, which are used to capture dynamic data specific to each mobile device: •%a - %d. Captures specific octets of the IP address of the mobile device. For example, use %a%b%c%d to capture all four IP octets of the address of the mobile device, or use %d to capture only the last octet of the IP address of the mobile device. •%m - %r. Captures specific octets of the MAC address of the mobile device. For example, use %p%q%r to capture the last three octets of the MAC address of the mobile device. •%s. Captures the session number. •%t. Captures the Avalanche terminal ID of the mobile device. A workstation ID can be 1-20 alphanumeric characters plus switches, but IBM hosts usually truncate workstation IDs that are more than 10 characters. The workstation ID should not begin with a numeric character.
Telnet Negotiation String	A Telnet negotiation string for the host connection. A Telnet negotiation string is used to identify a mobile device to a host system and to present a Client with the appropriate emulation options. The host system can then supply information to the mobile device based on Telnet negotiation string (for example, menus or display options). The string can be 1-20 alpha-numeric characters.
AutoLaunch Session	The Client attempts to connect to the specified host each time the Client is launched.
Language	The encoding for the Client to use.

SSH

ConnectPro (Android/iOS only)

Type	The version number of the ConnectPro server.
Address	The IP address or host name of the proxy server. To prompt a device user for all or part of the address, use a variable delineated by %. Variables can be used in DNS names or IP addresses. For example: 192.168.42.%Store Number% The text that is inside the % indicators is the information that appears in the prompt on the device. In the above example, the prompt on the device would ask the user for "Store Number". If the user provides the store number 123, the Client attempts to connect to 192.168.42.123.
Port	The TCP port number on which the proxy server is listening for emulation requests from Clients.
Terminate	Indicates when the ConnectPro server should terminate the connection to the host. Possible Values: •Never. The proxy server never terminates the session established with the host. The Client is responsible for terminating the session. •On Network Error. The proxy server terminates the session with the host when a network error occurs, such as a loss of network connectivity. •On Session Exit. The proxy server terminates the session with the host when the session is terminated by the Client. •Always. The proxy server will terminate the session with the host on a network error or when the session is terminated.
Reconnect	Specifies if the Client will attempt to reconnect if the session with the proxy server is lost unexpectedly and the Client has not received a disconnect message from the proxy server.
Reconnect string	Specifies the reconnect string that the mobile device should use when connecting to the host. (Alternately, you may configure reconnect strings in ConnectPro.)
SSL	Specifies whether the TE Client should use SSL/TLS to connect to the proxy server or alternate Telnet host.
SSL Certificate	The SSL certificate to use to connect to the proxy server.
Custom Encryption	Uses a custom encryption algorithm to encrypt data between the device and the proxy server.
Custom Encryption Key	The password specified in the ConnectPro configuration. (The Client and the ConnectPro server must be configured with the same encryption key.)

Use Tunneling	Sets whether or not to use tunneling. If you are using 5250 emulation with SSH, you must use SSH tunneling.
Address	The IP address or host name for SSH tunneling.
Port	The TCP port number for SSH tunneling.
User Name	The username for SSH.
Password	The password for SSH.

User	The user name the Client should use when connecting to the host. To prompt a user for a specific user name, you can use a variable delineated by a %. For example: %Gun Number% The text included within the % indicators is the information that appears in the prompt on the device. In the above example, the prompt on the device would ask the user for "Gun Number" as their user name.
Password	The password the Client should use when connecting to the host. To prompt a user for a specific password value, you can use a variable delineated by a % after selecting the Use prompt scheme option. For example: %Store Number% The text included within the % indicators is the information that appears in the prompt on the device. In the above example, the prompt on the device would ask the user for a "Store Number" as their password.
Use prompt scheme	Enables the use of variables in the Password field. If a % is not placed at the start and end of a value, an alert will prompt you to correct the problem. If this option is not selected and you enter a variable in the Password field, users must provide the value entered rather than the requested input.
Store user responses	Retains the user name and password entered by the user. After a user exits the TE Client or host session and relaunches it, the values stored will be pre-entered in both the User and Password fields.
Program	A program/procedure that should run when the Client connects.
Menu	The name of the menu you want displayed when the Client connects.
Library	The name of a library the Client should navigate to when it connects.
