Remote Control for Windows Mobile/CE (AIDC) Devices
Avalanche integrates with Avalanche Remote Control so you can view and control any connected Windows Mobile/CE (AIDC) device from the Avalanche Console by pressing a single button. To use Avalanche Remote Control with AIDC devices, the device must have a Remote Control package installed and licensed.
Before distributing the Remote Control software to devices, you will need to obtain the Remote Control software from the download site, install the Remote Control server, and license Remote Control. For detailed information about these tasks, see the Avalanche Remote Control User Guide.
Adding the Remote Control software package to devices
Distribute the Remote Control software package to AIDC devices with a software profile.
Creating a software profile
1.From the Profiles tab, click New Profile.
The New Profile dialog box appears.
2.Click Software.
The New Profile Details page appears.
3.Type a name for the profile in the Name text box. Software profile names are case-sensitive and must be unique.
4.Select the Enabled check box.
5.Click Launch wizard to use the Selection Criteria Builder to determine which devices the software profile will be applied to. For details about creating and using selection criteria, see Selection Criteria.
6.Click Save.
The software profile is created and appears in the Available Profiles panel.
Creating the Remote Control software package
After creating a software profile, add software packages to it. Add the Remote Control software package to a software profile to distribute it to devices.
1.From the Available Profiles panel on the Profiles tab, click on the software profile you want to edit.
2.In the Software Packages panel, click New.
The Software Package wizard appears.
3.Select Install an Avalanche package.
4.Click Select Package
The File Explorer appears.
5.Navigate to and select the Remote Control software package; then click Open.
The file is added to the list.
6.Click Next.
The End User License Agreement appears.
7.Select Yes, I agree and click Next.
The files will be prepared for installation.
8.Select the Enabled option.
9.Click Finish to complete the package.

Applying a software profile to a folder
Once you have created a software profile and added the software package to it, apply it to folders to distribute the software to devices.
1.In the Profiles tab, use the Navigation Tree to navigate to the region or folder where you want to apply the profile.
2.In the Available Profiles panel, select the check box next to the name of the profile and click Apply.
The Selected Profiles screen appears.
3.Click Apply to apply the profile without deploying it.

If you want to schedule a deployment, click Schedule Deployment and configure the deployment options.
Connecting to a mobile device from Avalanche
1.From the Inventory tab, click the device you want to connect to in the Mobile Devices panel.
The Mobile Device Details page appears.
2.Click the Remote Control icon at the top of the page.
A remote control session begins.
Once you are connected to a mobile device, you can access the Registry Explorer, File Explorer, and Process Manager using the available icons in the Tools panel.
