Installing Session Persistence Server
Session Persistence Server is available for Microsoft Windows or Windows Server operating systems. All files required to install and operate Session Persistence Server can be obtained from the Wavelink downloads page.
Session Persistence Server can be installed on one of the following operating systems:
•Windows Server 2012, 2016, or 2019, 64-bit
• Windows 10
•Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.6
This version of Session Persistence Server does not support installation on AS/400 or AIX servers. To install on AS/400, Wavelink recommends TermProxy 3.x. To install on AIX, use ConnectPro 4.4.1. For more information about installing ConnectPro 4.4.1, see the ConnectPro Reference Guide.
This section contains information about installing Session Persistence Server for use on a Windows machine.
To install Session Persistence Server on Windows
1.Download and save the Session Persistence Server installation file from the Wavelink downloads page to the target host system.
2.Double-click the executable to launch it.
The Wavelink TermProxy Setup Wizard appears.
3.Click Next.
The License Agreement dialog box appears.
4.Navigate through each option and select an installation location.
5.Click Install to accept the default installation location, or click Browse to navigate to a folder of your choice.
6.After you click Install, the Session Persistence Server installs. A dialog box appears asking if you want to add a shortcut to the desktop. Click Yes to add a shortcut to the desktop, if desired.
7.The installer launches the Session Persistence Server TermProxy initial installation configuration wizard in a web browser, and a dialog box appears asking if you want to set the MaxUserPort value to increase the number of sessions possible. (This allows each Client to maintain four concurrent sessions.) If you click Yes, the following registry key is added to the computer's registry:
[HKLM]/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/Tcpip/Parameters MaxUserPort=65534 (DWORD)
8.The Completing the Wavelink TermProxy Setup Wizard screen appears. Click Finish to close the wizard, and follow the steps in Configuring Session Persistence Server with the Configuration Wizard in order to configure the Session Persistence Server.
You must have root user privileges to install or run Session Persistence Server.
There are alternative methods for installing Session Persistence Server on Linux. You may use a different installation method if desired.
To install Session Persistence Server on Linux
1.Download the .rpm installation file.
2.Enter the following command at the terminal:
rpm -i [filename]
Session Persistence Server is installed on the host system. The installer launches the Session Persistence Server TermProxy initial installation configuration wizard in a web browser. Follow the steps in Configuring Session Persistence Server with the Configuration Wizard in order to configure the Session Persistence Server.
To start Session Persistence Server, use the following command
/etc/init.d/termproxy start
To stop Session Persistence Server, use the following command
/etc/init.d/termproxy stop
This section provides instructions for uninstalling Session Persistence Server.
To uninstall Session Persistence Server from Windows
1.Right-click the Start menu and select Apps and features.
2.Select Wavelink TermProxy from the list of apps and click Uninstall.
Session Persistence Server is removed.
To uninstall Session Persistence Server from Linux
•Use the following command to uninstall the .rpm file:
rpm -e --allmatches termproxy
Session Persistence Server is removed.
