Adding the Avalanche Enabler Configuration Package

Add the Avalanche Enabler configuration package to the Avalanche Console before you can configure the Enabler options. Once installed, you will have access to the configuration utility for the Enabler.

You can either create a new software profile for the Enabler package or add it to an existing profile. Steps to create a profile are included in these instructions. If you are adding a package to an existing profile, skip to step 8.

In order to use package utilities to configure a package from the Web Console, you must have a current JRE installed on the computer where you are using the Web Console. Avalanche will download the package utility to the local computer to allow you to configure the package, and then save your changes to the package.

To add a software profile:

1  From the Profiles tab, click New Profile.

The New Profile dialog box appears.

2  Select Software Profile.

The New Profile Details page appears.

3  Type a name for the profile in the Name text box. Software profile names are case-sensitive and must be unique.

4  If desired, enable the profile now.

5  Click Launch wizard to use the Selection Criteria Builder to determine which devices the software profile will be applied to.

6  Click Save.

7  The Software Profile page appears. In the Software Packages panel, click New.

8  The Software Package Wizard appears. Select Install an Avalanche package.

9  Click Select Package to browse to the location of the software package. When you have selected the file, click Open.

10  In the Software Package Wizard, click Next.

11  A License Agreement appears. Accept the license agreement and click Next.

12  The package files will begin extracting locally. When the extraction is complete, click Next.

13  The Configure Software Package page appears. If desired, you can enable the package immediately.

14  Click Finish.
