Importing Profile Settings to Configure the Enabler

If you have existing network or mobile device profiles with settings that you want to use for the new Enabler, you can use those settings when you are installing the Enabler on the device. Export the profile settings from the Avalanche Console and then import them with the Enabler Configuration Utility at the time of installation. For instructions on exporting network and/or mobile device profiles, see the Avalanche Java Console User Guide.

This option is not available for Avalanche On Demand users.

When importing network profiles, the WWAN settings are not imported. These must be manually configured.

To import profile settings to configure the Enabler:

1  If you enabled Run Wavelink Avalanche Enabler, the Wavelink Product Configuration window will appear after you’ve finished the installation to your PC. You can also access this window by:

double-clicking the Enabler shortcut on the desktop.

-Or-

clicking Start > Programs > Wavelink Avalanche > [device name] Avalanche Enabler.

2  Click Import.

The Import Avalanche Settings dialog box appears.

3  Click [...] to navigate to the file you want to import, then click Open when you have selected it.

4  Type the encryption password set at the Avalanche Console in the Password text box.

5  Click Import.

The Include imported data with config option is enabled, and the Enabler will use the configuration when you use Config Only or Install & Config.
