Solaris Installation

If you stop the installation process at any time, you must use the uninstall utility to remove any partially-installed components before you attempt to re-install.

To install Studio on a Solaris OS:

1  Download Wavelink Studio 5.0 (Studio.bin) from the Wavelink Web site.

2  From a terminal, navigate to the directory where Studio is saved, type ./Studio.bin and press Enter.

The Installer starts and the Introduction dialog box appears.

3  Click Next.

The License Agreement dialog box appears. Please read this agreement carefully.

4  To accept the License Agreement, enable the I accept the terms of the License Agreement option and click Next.

The Choose Install Folder dialog box appears.

5  To accept the default installation folder click Next.

To navigate to a different installation folder, click Choose. If you click Choose and decide that you prefer the default directory, click Restore Default Folder. Once you select a folder, click Next.

The Choose Java Virtual Machine dialog box appears.

6  A list of available Java VMs becomes active in the dialog box. Select a Java VM from the list.

The Java VM must reside on the same path as Studio. You must use a Java VM that complies with the Java 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition, version 1.4 or compatible.

7  Click Next.

The Choose Link Folder dialog box appears.

8  Select where you want the product icons for Studio components to reside and click Next.

The Choose Product Features dialog box appears.

9  If you want to install all components of Studio, select the Full Install option. Select this option if this installation is for a primary installation of Studio components.

If you want to install site-only components, select the Site Install option. Select this option if this installation is for a specific site within your enterprise.

If you want to install only the Administrator user interface, select the Administrator Install option.

10  Click Next.

The Pre-Installation Summary dialog box appears.

11  If the installation information is correct, click Install.

If you are performing a full or site installation, the Specify Server Name dialog box appears. Proceed to Step 12.

If you are performing an Administrator installation, the Install Complete dialog box appears. Click Done to complete the installation.

12  Type a name for the Application Server in the Server Name text box.

13  Type a password for the Application Server in the Server Password text box.

14  If you are performing a site installation, type the IP address of the headquarters server in the HQ Server IP text box.

15  Click Next.

The Install Complete dialog box appears.

16  Click Done.
