Using the Velocity Client

For information on installing the Velocity Client, see Installing the Velocity Client. After the Client app is installed, you can perform the following actions:

To connect to a host, select a host profile when you first launch the Velocity Client. To create a new host profile, see Configuring Host Profiles.

To begin another session when you already have a session open, tap the Menu button. When the menu appears, tap Add Host Profile to connect to another host. You can only connect to a maximum of four sessions at once—this can be any combination of session types, including more than one Web session at a time.

To switch to another connected session, tap the Menu button, and then tap the name of the host you want to work in. The active session appears. With connected Web sessions, you cannot copy and paste content between them.

To disconnect a host session, tap the Menu button. Then tap the X next to the name of the session you want to disconnect from.

To exit the Client, disconnect any current sessions and then tap the Menu > Exit.

To launch a keyboard on a screen, tap the keyboard button at the bottom of the screen. This loads the default or a custom keyboard, depending on if custom keyboards are associated with a host profile.

To switch between multiple custom keyboards, swipe left or right across the keyboard to cycle through other custom keyboards. This functionality only works if custom keyboards created with Velocity Console are associated with the host profile.

To pair a Bluetooth or NFC headset, put the headset into discovery mode. This typically involves pushing and holding the power button down until it starts blinking. From the Velocity Client, navigate to Menu > Pair My Headset > Browse. The list of discovered devices appears here. If the device has a barcode, pair it by navigating to Menu > Pair My Headset > Scan Barcode.

To use Speakeasy, make sure the Speakeasy .apk is installed and that the project has the appropriate scripts and grammar files included. Calibrate voice recognition for better results by navigating to Menu > Quick Calibration.
